Ride Enduro in the Zulu Kingdom of South Africa

A uniquely African experience riding through the jungle and mountains of KwaZulu-Natal. A tropical 6-day tour full of adventure!

Enjoy a rider’s paradise with flowing single-track trails. Soak up the sights and warmth and cool off after a day on the trails with a dip in the ocean!

Here’s everything you need to know

What’s included:

  • Pick-up and drop-off from King Shaka International Airport, Durban, on the first and last day respectively
  • 5 nights stay at coastal resort hotel in Salt Rock, Ballito
  • 2 nights stay in luxury boutique hotel on the edge of Krantzkloof Nature Reserve
  • Both hotels include breakfast daily before we ride
  • Packed riding lunches, snacks, fruit and water supplied daily on rides
  • Dinners included every night of the tour, 2 dinners at local restaurants and a ‘Braai’ (BBQ)
  • Motorcycle hire (Two-strokes: KTM EXC 300’s or KTM EXC 250’s)
  • Fuel for motorcycle for 5 full days of riding
  • Motorcycle maintenance before and during the tour
  • Support vehicle with a driver and full mechanical support
  • Two Ride With Locals tour guides on every ride
  • Experience day at a safari park and a traditional Zulu culture dance show
  • The included insurance is basic liability insurance and covers damages of other vehicles in the case of collision or accident.  

How to book a trip with Ride With Locals:

You may book a trip with Ride With Locals by filling out the booking form on the website and making payment online.

The maximum number of participants for each tour is 6 riding participants plus 2 riding guides from Ride With Locals.

The minimum number of participants for the tour to run is 3 riding participants plus 2 riding guides from Ride With Locals.

No visa’s are required for most countries visiting South Africa, allowing up to 90 days leisure stay.

When booking your flight our recommended route is with Emirates airlines via Dubai Int. Airport, which includes 2x23kg bags for all your gear and a connecting flight to King Shaka Int. Airport, Durban. Alternatively you can fly via London Heathrow into O.R Thambo Int. Airport, Johannesburg and catch a local connecting flight to King Shaka Int. Airport. 

Not included in the price:

  • Flights to and from King Shaka International Airport, Durban, South Africa
  • International Medical Travel Insurance
  • Riding gear, helmets and personal riding protection
  • Alcoholic beverages are chargeable to your hotel room
  • Motorcycle insurance cover damage caused by normal use of the bike (CDW insurance)

Things to remember:

  • This is an enduro off-road tour, with terrain that requires you to be an intermediate dirt rider and have previous enduro riding experience.
  • South African weather is very warm and tropical (which includes sunny, foggy, windy) from March- May.
  • Temperatures can vary from 15 to 27 Degrees Celsius (59°F to 80°F), so come prepared for warmth and coastal humidity.
  • We recommend packing your flip-flops, swimmers and summer clothes when off the bike, and vented enduro shirt and pants combination for riding, with protection boots and chest protector, helmet, goggles, gloves and a hydration pack.
  • Don’t forget your bathing suit for the very warm Indian Ocean waters, beach rock pool and hotel pool.
  • Medical travel insurance is required in case of illness or injury.
  • Motorcycle insurance cover damage caused by normal use of the bike optional CDW insurance is available for an additional fee and recommended.

BIKES & RIDING GEAR

For the enduro riding terrain, we will ride two-stroke bikes which are the perfect solution: KTM (EXC 300) and (EXC 250) are included in the tour.
 

Fuel and mechanical support are provided, full support from two Ride With Locals South Africa riding guides and a backup support vehicle. 

All participants must bring their own full riding gear. This includes enduro/motocross helmet, a back and chest protector, shirt and trousers gear set, goggles, gloves, off-road boots, hydration pack and any other protective gear you deem necessary. If you are unsure about your gear, don’t hesitate to contact us.
