Iceland Motorcycle Tours

Before making a reservation at Ride With Locals we encourage you to read these Terms and Conditions carefully, as they constitute a contract agreement made between Ride With Locals and you from the time of booking.

By submitting a booking, you confirm to us that you comply with these arrangements.

Payment At the time of booking, you can choose either to pay the full trip price upfront or to pay a 20% deposit and use the monthly payment plan for the remaining balance.

If you choose the payment plan, the remaining 80% will be paid according to the trip’s departure date.

The standard payment plan consists of 12 monthly payments. The first payment is due 360 days before departure, followed by one payment every 30 days. The final payment is due 30 days before departure.

The standard payment dates are: 360, 330, 300, 270, 240, 210, 180, 150, 120, 90, 60 and 30 days before departure.

If you book more than 360 days before departure, you will pay the 20% deposit at the time of booking. No further payments will be due until the monthly payment plan begins 360 days before departure.

If you book less than 360 days but more than 30 days before departure, the remaining balance will automatically be recalculated and divided equally across the payment dates still available before departure.

If you book 30 days or less before departure, the full trip price must be paid in one payment at the time of booking.

Payments are made in your local currency through WeTravel, helping you avoid foreign-exchange markup fees that your bank may charge when processing payments in another currency.

The following local payment methods are available at no additional cost:

• USD: ACH
• EUR: SEPA, iDEAL and Bancontact
• GBP: BACS
• CAD: PAD
• AUD: BECS and PayTo
• MXN: SPEI
• BRL: PIX

If you choose to pay by credit card, a credit-card processing fee will be added to the payment.

You can change your preferred payment method at any time by updating your payment details through the Manage Booking page. The updated payment method will then be used for your remaining scheduled payments.

Alternative payment arrangements may be agreed upon in writing.

Cancellation of trip Cancellations must be made as soon as a hindrance occurs.

When canceling more than 60 days before the trip, the participant will get a full refund.

Cancellation 60–30 days before the trip: 50% of the full amount will be refunded. Cancellation less than 30 days before the trip: No refund will be given.

If Ride With Locals cancels the trip, the full amount of the payment will be refunded to participants. Ride With Locals will inform about a cancellation no later than 30 days before the trip. Ride With Locals is not liable for other costs for the trip, such as flight tickets.

Passport All participants must have a valid passport with 6 months validity. A passport that expires during the trip is invalid.

Driver’s license All participating riders must have a valid driver’s license for a heavy motorcycle.

Liability The customer is liable in any case for all personal injuries and damage to property caused by his/her intentional misconduct or negligence and shall indemnify and hold Ride With Locals harmless against all third party claims asserted directly on Ride With Locals in connection with such injuries and/or damage. Damage caused by a customer’s intentional misconduct or negligence means in particular (but not limited to) damage attributable to driving mistakes, lack of driving ability and/or disorderly driving behavior (for instance, driving on the back wheel making a racing start or failing to comply with safety spaces between vehicles).

CDW – Bike insurance Minor scratches caused by falling over or dropping the bike do not have to be covered by the participant. But if the motorcycle is damaged and requires repair, there is a vehicle damage excess charge for fully repairing the motorcycle unless the person has purchased a motorcycle insurance in the amount of 300 euros that we offer, which covers all damage which can happen to the motorcycle during the trip with the exception of damage caused by the rider by very dangerous riding.

Motorcycle insurance The included insurance is basic liability insurance and covers damages of other vehicles in the case of collision and medical insurance for the rider and any others involved in an accident. CDW insurance (coverage of the cost of making necessary repairs to the bike) is extra and an additional 160 Euros per person, per tour. Riders understand that if the CDW insurance is not purchased, they are liable for any and all damages to the motorcycle. Damage caused willfully or due to reckless behavior is not covered by any insurance.

Travel insurance Participants are required to have medical health and accident insurance that also covers transportation back to the home country. Insurance documents must be presented upon demand.

Cancellation cover We recommend that all our customers check what their home insurance covers. Some insurances have a cancellation cover that covers the entire amount or part of it.

Itinerary Ride With Locals is not liable for itinerary changes. Be sure to check your flight times and ask to have your seat reservation confirmed. Ride With Locals is not liable for a missed flight due to changed itineraries or a delayed flight.

Itinerary changes Ride With Locals reserves the right to change information in brochures and on the website, before making a contract with a participant. Ride With Locals also reserves the right to carry out changes to the terms and conditions regarding the trip and due to safety and/or weather conditions.

Ride With Locals reserves the right to change itineraries due to unexpected situations and does not answer for possible typing errors.
