Day 1
Selfoss – Jökulheimar
The Land of Volcanoes

After being picked up from your Reykjavik hotel, we’ll hit the road and start our journey into the mountains towards Iceland’s largest lake, Þórisvatn. Along the way, we’ll explore stunning waterfalls, including the majestic Hjálparfoss and the impressive Háifoss, the second-highest waterfall in Iceland.
But that’s just the beginning – the real highlight of the day is the incredible, untouched territory of the highlands, which we’ll traverse as we make our way towards the Jökulheimar mountain hut. Once we arrive, get ready to indulge in a delicious dinner featuring freshly caught Icelandic fish or sweet steak, while surrounded by the serene and stunning natural beauty of the area. Day 2
Jökulheimar – Rjúpnavellir
Through The Black Desert
Get ready for another day of unforgettable adventure on our 4-day motorcycle tour through Iceland’s stunning landscapes. We’ll start day two at Jökulheimar and journey through the heart of the highlands, riding through the magnificent Veiðivatnahraun lava field. The area surrounding Veiðivötn lakes is a true highland oasis and is home to some of the best brown trout and arctic char fishing in Iceland.
As we travel further through this paradise, you’ll witness the awe-inspiring Mt. Hekla – one of the country’s most active volcanoes. Once known as “the Gateway to Hell,” this wonder of nature will leave you spellbound. But that’s not all – we’ll also journey through the remarkable Eldgjá volcanic fissure and take in the stunning black desert landscape that surrounds it. Finally, we’ll reach Rjúpnavellir mountain hut for a good night’s rest, surrounded by the serene beauty of Iceland’s highlands. Day 3
Rjúpnavellir – Álftavötn
Day Of The Great Nature Colors
Get ready to be wowed by the stunning nature colors on day three of our motorcycle tour through Iceland’s stunning landscapes. We’ll start in the Fjallabak region, named for the rugged mountains and deep valleys that make it feel like something out of a Lord of the Rings story. From there, we’ll make our way to the hot pools at Landmannalaugar, one of the many incredible manifestations of geothermal activity in the area. After taking a refreshing dip, we’ll head towards Tungnaá River and take in the stunning sights of Vatnajökull – Iceland’s largest glacier – and the gorgeous Langisjór lake.
Along the way, we’ll pass through the incredible Eldgjá volcanic fissure, a massive 60 km long canyon that was formed during one of the largest volcanic eruptions in Icelandic history in the year 934. With a width of 600 meters and a depth of up to 150 meters, it’s one of the most awe-inspiring natural wonders in Iceland. Finally, we’ll arrive at one of the most beautiful mountain huts in Iceland, where we’ll spend the night surrounded by the incredible beauty of Iceland’s natural landscapes.

Day 4
Álftavötn – Selfoss
Behind The Glaciers
As we approach the end of our 4-day motorcycle tour, we have some incredible surprises in store for you. You’ll be privileged to ride on an amazing mountain road, the Öldufellsleið, which is not a common route for most people. This unique experience is one you won’t forget, and along the way, you’ll be treated to stunning views of two of Iceland’s most famous glaciers – Mýrdalsjökull and Eyjafjallajökull. As we ride behind Mýrdalsjökull, we’ll pass through the famous black desert, where you’ll catch a glimpse of one of Iceland’s most beautiful volcanoes, Mælifell. The journey continues as we make our way to the Markarfljótsgljúfur canyon, a true natural wonder that’s sure to take your breath away. From there, we’ll head back to Selfoss, passing through the uncanny and eye-catching Emstrur desolate area.
Our 4-day motorcycle tour is an experience like no other, offering a unique way to explore Iceland’s stunning landscapes on enduro bikes. The thrill of the ride, combined with the breathtaking natural wonders of Iceland, creates an unforgettable adventure that you won’t find anywhere else. With a support vehicle, full support, and all the necessary equipment included in the tour, all you do is show up and ride!

What’s included in the price:
- Pick up at any hotel in Reykjavík and drive back after the last riding day
- 3 nights in mountain huts with sleeping bag accommodation and mattresses.
- 3 breakfasts
- 3 lunches and 2 dinners and all food while we are driving
- Snacks, coffee, and water for 3 days
- Motorcycle (KTM 690 R)(KTM 350,450) (Husky 701)(Husky 450)and Honda CRF 300L for 3 days
- Backup motorcycle when needed (can be a different type from KTM 690 R)
- Fuel for motorcycle
- Support vehicle with a driver and full support
- Motorcycle Insurance
- The included insurance is basic liability insurance and covers damages to other vehicles in the case of collision and medical insurance for the rider and any others involved in an accident. CDW insurance (coverage of the cost of making necessary repairs to the bike) is extra and an additional 160 Euros per person, per tour. Riders understand that if the CDW insurance is not purchased, they are liable for and all damages to the motorcycle. Damage caused willfully or due to reckless behavior is not covered by any insurance.
How to book a trip with Ride With Locals:
You may book a trip with Ride With Locals by filling out the registration form on the website.
The maximum number of participants for each tour is 10 + 2 riding guides from Ride With Locals.
The minimum number of participants for the tour to run is 3 people+ 2 riding guides from Ride With Locals.
Not included in the price:
- Flights to/from Reykjavik/Keflavik
- Hotel in Reykjavík the night before and after the trip
- Riding gear and helmets
*You can book flights to/from Reykjavik/Keflavik from several destinations in Europe and the rest of the world.
Things to remember:
- The weather on Iceland can differ from day to day and rain is not unusual. Make sure that your clothes really are waterproof. Waterproof socks are a recommendation since we often ride through the water.
- The temperature can vary from 5 to 15 Celsius degrees, so you need to be well prepared.
- Remember that travel insurance is required in case you get ill or injure yourself. Most home insurances also include travel insurance. Check it with your insurance company. A European insurance card is also recommended (if European), it is provided free of charge at the state.
- Also, remember to bring your own bathing/swimming suit for the natural swimming pools and hot tubs.
- It is also good to have a fly net to cover your face as we travel through areas with beautiful lakes where the fly is starting to increase
